As you might’ve read, MilkBoy South Street opened on Tuesday. The corner of 4th and South Streets (across Jim’s Steaks) received a breath of new life after Tommy Joyner, Jamie Lokoff and Bill Hanson grabbed hold of a decrepit space which once housed Lickety Split before it became a strange two-part concept when Jon Taffer “rescued” it.
MilkBoy South Street is virtually the same as the Midtown Village version. It’s the same bar set-up (except instead of a print of a Milkboy cab behind the bar, it’s an old-fashioned MilkBoy pick-up), same garage door entrances, same second floor music venue, only this one, gets the added treat of being smack in the middle of South Street’s hubbub.
A neat addition: the upstairs high-top tables fold into the wall, so if there’s a need for more standing room during a concert (live music starts August 19), there’s a way to save space without any heavy-lifting.
Scroll through the photos above, or see it for yourself anytime between 11 a.m. and 2 a.m., daily.
